Getting Around Dominica

Finding Us

Getting around Dominica couldn't be easier.

Buses
There are regular minibuses serving every village, which are cheap, and are a good way to meet the local people.

Hitch-hiking
Alternatively, many locals walk and hitch-hike their way around the island, a safe and easy way to travel in Dominica.

Car hire
There are plenty of car rental companies on the island. A basic car costs around US$45 per day. If you would like to hire a car, again, we would be happy to organise it for you, and if you wish to have one waiting for you at the airport or ferry terminal, we can make all the necessary arrangements on your behalf.

Taxis
There are plenty of taxis working on the island, and if you wish to use their services, we can book them for you. Whether you arrive at one of the airports, or at the ferry terminal, there are normally plenty of taxis waiting. Whichever port of entry, the journey time is around an hour, and expect to pay around EC$180 / US$70 for your taxi. Alternatively, there are buses and hitchiking works well enough.
