3 River is proud to inform you that we are a fully certified member of
GREEN GLOBE 21,

Wec are now in the 3rd year of our Green Globe 21 membership, and we have done a great deal of environmental work in order to retain our fully certified status. The results of our first two years benchmarking are detailed below for your information.

This year, 2006, Green Globe 21, in association with Earthcheck, introduced a new benchmarking system with a couple of new categories. We are extremely proud to say that we have achieved at, or above, best practice level in all 8 benchmarking categories.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Congratulations, the 3 Rivers Ecolodge has passed the requirements to continue to become recognised as Green Globe 21 Benchmarked Accommodation for the next 12 months, and retains the right to display the Green Globe 21 logo during this period.

All six Earthcheck™ indicators are at or above the Baseline level, and where possible, improvement has been made in all indicators since the first benchmarking exercise. From the benchmarking data provided, all indicators, Energy Consumption, Potable Water Consumption, Solid Waste Production, Social Commitment, Resource Conservation, and Cleaning Chemicals Used, are at or above the Best Practice level, which is a truly outstanding achievement to be very highly commended.

In addition, the use of an optional Operator Selected Indicator further demonstrates a very positive commitment to protecting the environment. Improvements in all the Earthcheck™ indicators will not only help the environment, but can also help reduce operational costs. Due to the very positive commitment that the 3 Rivers Ecolodge has demonstrated to the environment, the assessors are confident that they can maintain their very high standards and remain a leader in exceptional environmental performance. In line with Green Globe 21 Policy this would enable Benchmarked status to be retained.
